Accompanist

David Whitehead joined us as our rehearsal accompanist in Spring 2014

David studied at the Royal College of Music in London, during which time he held the positions of Organ Scholar at St Paul’s Cathedral and the Temple Church.

Following his training and some time spent in the USA he embarked upon a teaching and performing career in London. Over the years teaching and musical posts have included positions in Bath, London, Berkshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

His conducting and performing career has encompassed involvement with many church and school choirs, chamber choirs and choral societies, including as conductor of Bewdley Choral Society, Cirencester Choral Society and Cantores chamber choir.

Alongside his working life he maintains a career as an established recitalist and répétiteur, and as an accompanist with a range of choirs. As a performer his career has included numerous concerts, broadcasts, recitals and CD recordings, together with involvement in various music festivals across Europe.
